Hello!
Welcome to The Anchor Website. This work in Anchorage has been one of the most exciting and encouraging things that has happened in my Christian life. When the Lord called us to move to Alaska, we never dreamed that He would later call us to begin a new mission work in Anchorage. However, during the Summer of 2001, the Lord led us to begin a Bible study that soon turned into a church-mission work. The Anchor organized into a independent church on August 8, 2009. Looking back, I clearly see the hand of the Lord in all of these things and He deserves all of the glory!
Our congregation is a good mixture of folks from those different walks of life. We are thankful for this diversity because we believe it will be used of God to help us reach out to different people within the city. One of the most common themes among our membership is the power that God has to change lives. Jesus is a real Savior that desires to not just be in your head, but in your heart and therefore manifested in your whole life. Our desire is that this community hear the life changing gospel of Jesus Christ. We believe that our Lord has left us on this earth to take this message out to a world which needs to hear the truth.
Because we are a newer congregation, we are also small and very personal. We are constantly seeking to expand our ministries as the Lord gives us the leadership, the resources, and the opportunity. We meet at our building in south Anchorage (see location).
I am optimistic about the future of this work and I pray that the Lord will use this church to further His kingdom in Anchorage, the rest of Alaska, and beyond. I hope this web site is informative and that it kindles a desire in your heart to visit this work.
